PA DAY PROGRAMS
P.A. DAYS
Our single-day programs are offered on every school P.A. day for the TDSB.
We collaboratively and on an emergent basis (with the participating children) create a theme around each single-day program we offer. These themes can and do include everything from microeconomics, gender representation in media, political theory, socioeconomic inequality, to examining racial stereotypes in classic fantasy narratives.
We use modern board games to teach our participants about how the world works, what rules govern it, and how we (both as individuals and as different societies) interact with those rules. The social narratives that guide how we live are often invisible, and at Game Masters Table, we strive to shine a light on those invisible rules, and to discuss how we can use our new knowledge of the world to make it a better place for everyone to live.
Other benefits to playing modern board games include learning strategy and tactics, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and strengthening brain function.
